Harper condemns Putin’s military intervention

Prime Minister Stephen Harper has issued a statement, “condemning in the strongest terms President Putin’s military intervention in Ukraine.” In his remarks released March 1 evening, Harper called for the withdrawal of Russian military forces and urged Putin to “refrain from further provocative and dangerous actions.” To underscore his position, the PM said he is recalling the ambassador from Moscow, and added that Canada supports the deployment of UN monitors in Ukraine.
